To reflect a fair and systematic way of determine the ranking of a team, the rating system will be used.
A rating is where the points obtained by the team divided by the total matches played.
The matches played when calculate the rating will be valid for 2 years. As for the points, explanation is provided on Part 3.

The Rankings at a glance - Part 3 ( Points validation )
The points will be valid for 2 years. After that, on 31st December of the following year, the points and matches played will be cancelled out.
For example, in 20X1 a team collect 1000 points after 10 matches. This will be valid until 31st December 20X3, where the points obtained and matches played will be wiped off from the ranking charts.

The opponent is weighted as follows:
Teams from AFF ( South East Asia ), SAFF ( South Asia ) and EAFF ( East Asia. Except Korea Republic, Korea DPR, Japan and China ) = x1
Teams from Central Asia ( with the exception of Uzbekistan ) = x1.5
Teams from Middle East ( including Uzbekistan and Iran ) and East Asia ( including Australia ) = x3
Outside Asia = x4
Teams from AFF ( South East Asia ), SAFF ( South Asia ) and EAFF ( East Asia. Except Korea Republic, Korea DPR, Japan and China ) = x1
Teams from Central Asia ( with the exception of Uzbekistan ) = x1.5

11 Member Associations of the ASEAN Football Federation ( AFF ) included in this ranking calculation. Australia excluded although they are now a member of the AFF. Only matches that is included in the FIFA ranking will be considered.
Ranking points allocation
1) Friendlies ( including AFF Cup Qualifiers and invitational tournaments )
Win: 80 points
Draw: 30 points
Lose: 0 point
2) Regional ( AFF Cup and AFC Challenge Cup finals* )
- Group Stage
Win: 90 points
Draw: 50 points
Lose: 0 point
- For Semi Final and Final
Win: 180 points
Draw: 100 points
Lose: 0 points
* Note: The AFC decided that the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup will be the final edition of the tournament. Thereafter, all teams will take part in the Asian Cup Qualifier.
3) Qualifiers ( ACQ and WCQ )
Win: 250 points
Draw: 120 points
Lose: 0 points
4) Major tournament finals ( Asian Cup, World Cup )
Will update here once any ASEAN team reach that stage
Note: Should the match extend to penalty shootout the match will be a draw, and an extra 50 points for shootout winner, 20 points for the loser.
